Pitching to Investors or Venture Capitalists or Angel Investors is a tricky business. It requires careful thought, good timing and the right approach.

Two years ago, I wanted to start my own "dot-com" business in the UK. We drew up an extensive business plan and I created this video to help explain my new idea. Although I got many pledges, we didn't get enough to start the business.

The idea was a UK internet start-up that promises to change the way top British brands consider video production acquisition in addition to providing up-and-coming talented video producers the opportunity to make videos for the biggest brands. You need a good video yourself if you are pitching to investors.

Who knows if Brand Ivy could have found the next Ridley Scott or Christopher Nolan? There are similar companies out there already, like Mofilm, Poptent, Tongal and a host of others, but ours would have taken a different approach. The most difficult part of the business is retaining interested producers past the third or fourth attempt of getting chosen/selected/purchased. But we had an idea in place to retain and grow the community giving brands far more opportunity and cherry picking.
