"Mobilizing for Climate and Economic Justice: Global Perspectives, Local Action", was held on Saturday, September 14th. This was the first of the WSCF Global Educational Webinars of 2024.
The first speaker was Athena Peralta, Director of the Commission on Climate Justice and Sustainable Development at the World Council of Churches. She focused on global climate discussions, addressing the questions: Where are we? What are the priorities at COP29? and What is the role of global churches?
The second speaker, Rev. Damon Mkandawire, an ordained minister in the United Church of Zambia and current Mission Secretary for Ecology and Economy in the Council for World Mission, shared a presentation on climate justice programs for a local church in Africa.

Both presentations were followed by a round of questions from participants to the speakers. Moderation was in charge of Morgan Mambwe, the current Global Program Coordinator for Climate and Economic Justice at WSCF.
