Dr. Camille Taylor’s National School Gospel Choir Competitions
2002 College Division

Dr. Taylor’s last competition year was 2009. He subsequently died and the over 20 year legacy was not continued.
There were four divisions; Elementary, Middle, High School and College/ University. Friday morning was elementary and middle school. Friday night was high school and Saturday night was the college/ university competition. Please note, these were school gospel choirs that competed in 13 categories. Competition time was about 20 minutes.

I hesitated to put up these clips due to the audio quality however I know that there are those out there who participated in these events and do not have a copy of the videos. I heavily processed the audio. Enjoy

Please note: I am still looking for the original NGCC 2002 DVD. This was a home version.

This clip also contains the awards ceremony. Congratulations to Benedict College. Seeing Benedict College in this 2002 performance for the first time rewrote what a choir performance could be. It change our musical lives. I told my daughter Whitney: That's how I want GK to be! It took awhile, but in 2005 we got there!!!

Videos like these make me wish camcorder manufactures buried the ZOOM function!!!!
