in this video iam going to tell you what is a LED[light emitting diode] and its structure and how it works.[tamil video]
a diode can be expressed in terms of light emitting diode in tamil.
it means a diode emitting the light by passing forward bias current to it.a p type material was diffused over a n type substrate.
the p type material has metal contact in above its surface and the n type material has a metal layer below its surface.p type is anode
and the n type material is cathode in tamil.
after the power supply is given,the electrons in the conduction band and the holes in the valence band will go to the junction
then the reaction happening between the electrons and holes will help the diode to emit the light.
