China's Chang'e-6 moon probe successfully returns to Earth

China's Chang'e-6 lunar probe returned to Earth on Tuesday afternoon local time, with the re-entry capsule landing in the northern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia.
With that, it has become the first lunar expedition to bring back samples from the moon's far side.
According to China's state media CCTV, the collected samples will be transported by air to Beijing for analysis.
Launched on May 3rd from the Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on the island of Hainan, the probe landed on the moon's South Pole Aitken Basin, an impact crater on the side of the moon that always faces away from the Earth.
Chinese President Xi Jinping called the mission a "landmark achievement."
