This film acts as the prelude to a large-scale collaborative documentation of the night skies above Dorset, England. Dorset is the only county in the UK without a city, with the county town being Dorchester. In vast swathes of the region, stargazing is a delight and an absolute pleasure.

This video was created by Bridport filmmaker Stephen Banks (aka DorsetScouser: http://about.me/DorsetScouser). The final Dorset by Night film will be shot by photographers across the county, so that a more accurate rendition of Dorset can be made.
