A male hotel quarantine worker in Perth has tested positive to COVID-19, and authorities are investigating how exactly the infection was acquired. He was working in a hotel with confirmed cases of variant coronavirus strains in returned travellers.

The WA Health Department has compiled a list of potential exposure sites the man visited in recent days.


The positive case is the first instance of community transmission in the state since April last year.
