Del McCoury Band plays “High on a Mountain” LIVE @ Struthers Library in Warren PA on August 3, 2024

Del McCoury is an absolute world-class Bluegrass Legend, as are his sons Ronnie (Mandolin) and Robbie (Banjo). Del has been actively playing and touring since 1958, and this lineup of the Del McCoury Band has won multiple Grammys as well as countless Country Music and IMBA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards over the years.

We were lucky enough to catch them at the beautiful 1883 Struthers Library Theater in Warren Pennsylvania on August 3rd 2024, and they did not disappoint.

This song featured here is “High on a Mountain” originally written by Ola Belle Reed, and released by Del McCoury & the Dixie Pals in 1973. It is sometimes sung by others as “High on a Mountaintop”, but Del’s version stays true to the original lyrics.
