A couple of years ago LEGO released a small subtheme of sets revolving around police training: Police Training Academy, Mobile Police Dog Training, and Police Bike Training. The polybag seems to have a lot of just a poly bag. A figure, the bike, comes, and 2 obstacles. The dog training set was probably the most popular. This was the set that introduced the puppy piece. It has an excellent reuse of the cactus torso. The big set, Police Training Academy, I’ve bought twice actually… both times on clearance. It is basically a giant obstacle course, but also includes a bit of an interior (mostly a gym), an ATV, and a horse with an obstacle for that. All three of these sets are really good play sets. They all feature the police figures dressed in workout/training attire. As parts packs/MOC fodder, these sets would be OK, lots of white and blue with some other neutral or earth toned pieces. The big set has lots of architectural elements. The build for the police vehicle in the dog training set is good. I really liked this idea. Often times police subtheme focus on a specific place or, recently, adding a new color, this one focused on doing something different, and also real. I’m not sure how much of this will translate into my city but I am happy I have these sets.
