Sunflower (Paul Weller) - Drum Cover by John Hunter

This might be a lesser known tune, especially for our transatlantic friends, but Steve White really came up with something out of the top drawer when he put down this drum part for Paul Weller's 'Sunflower'. In my cover, I transcribed the part, as always, as accurately as I could, only for a transcribed part to be released the following year in 'The Art of Drumming' by Hudson Music. Despite the late upload, this was actually the first cover I recorded on an electronic kit.

Note: listen to the original and how White's hihat clutch becomes loose towards the end, resulting in a sloshy open hihat sound (completely unintentional). Also, the splash hit towards the end is the last time White ever played a splash cymbal on a Paul Weller track, after being told by Weller 'That sounds shit'.
