Guild Wars 2: Music of Elder Dragons [The Ultimate Mashup] - PART 1

Описание к видео Guild Wars 2: Music of Elder Dragons [The Ultimate Mashup] - PART 1

This is the ultimate Guild Wars 2's Mashup featuring the most iconic tracks about the Elder Dragons.

Zhaitan's music is a very choir/drums oriented music, as the theme of the dragon suggests, the music is all about dread, shadow and incoming death. The choir indeed creates this sort of atmosphere.

Mordremoth's leitmotif was featured already in Season 1, that's why I also included Battle on the Breachmaker. The music has a lot of violins and drums this time, and features a Slavonic-like style of singing, where the choir of possessed by madness females chant a song about feast (Caena Die - Day of Feast).

Kralkatorrik's music is intertwined with Aurene's. Both of those Dragons' tracks feature a lot of choir, drums, but Aurene's music has additional subtleties such as flutes, violins.

Primordus's music is intertwined with the element of Fire, that's why Balthazar's music also fits this Elder Dragon. Besides we hear "Battle on Draconis Mons" with Primordus on the background. The music of Primordus features heavier than never before sound of drums, brass and jouhikko with fujara, and also synth.

Jormag's music is both subtle and heavy - kind of a musical chameleon, which fits the persuasive nature of the Dragon of Ice. There is addition of deep choir chanting reminding me about Bacchae. There is a lot of violins and brass, heavy and intimidating. Yet in tracks such as Jormag Speaks, there is a lot of processing on the instrument and choir, also synth. Very creepy, lovecraftian-esque music.

Soo-Won's music is also quite complicated, there is this duality of being controlled by Dragonvoid, yet there is this side of her full of determination and beauty, like in Aurene's music.
Of course we hear Traditional Korean Music and Pansori, gorgeous daegeum is telling us about the depth of Soo-Won, which is the Mother that saw the beginning of Tyria, and synth which shows the development of Cantha.

And of course I included A World Without You which is a song that in different contexts can be listened to differently.

And I included quite a sad ending in form of "End of Dragon's Theme" - because this era in Tyria's history has ended.
