In this video; I take a piece of an old grapefruit tree and some High Speed Steel lathe tool blanks and make a set of 6 print-maker's engraving tools.

These tools are used for a type of lithography: A sheet of metal (usually zinc) is coated in a type of tar, the tools are used to draw, shade or otherwise design and image on the tar. Once complete the metal sheet is dipped in acid and the design is etched into the surface.
The tar is then cleaned off and the etched surface is filled with thick ink. This is then pressed onto damp paper which draws the ink from the etching leaving the image on the paper.
