I defeated the Venus Guardian with the "HARDEST" menu code, which makes the game even more difficult than Hard Mode. This boss precedes the conclusion of Chapter 2: Sacred Golden Hills.

HARDEST makes things quite difficult. This is my second playthrough, so I'm also playing with the "RUIGEE" and "MYSTERY?" menu codes; this means that every Medal is randomized, and ranking up is done through paperwork by talking to Eetl. RUIGEE's tradeoff is that Medals only cost 1MP to equip, which makes the powerful & expensive medals more usable. This combination makes for some exciting Medal lists & strategies, especially early-game, since you have access to more unconventional strategies. For example, I already had both Triumph Buzz & Victory Buzz by this point, so I was able to grind enemies quite efficiently.

For this boss fight, the Medals that I had equipped were:
HP Plus (Vi)
TP Plus
Antlion Jaws (Leif)
Favorite One (Kabbu)
HP Core (Vi)
TP Saver (Vi)
Miracle Matter (Leif)
Prayer (Kabbu)
Heavy Throw
Total: 9 Medals / 9MP

Getting TP Saver early on has been really amazing. Heavy Throw was also quite useful for this fight, since it can negate Venus raising the Venus Guardian's defense. As shown in the video, I already had Electric Needles unlocked this early on. Unfortunately, this means that boss fights in the future (for my second playthrough) won't be very exciting, since they'll be trivialized quite a lot. "RUIGEE" and "MYSTERY?" have been extremely fresh to play with.
