I give this book a 3.5 out of 5. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I like how the book was focused more on the family and relationships rather than just magic. In the beginning it was slow but the story picked up after 100 pages. The story definitely made me connect to the characters and feel emotional. Sometimes the writing would jump from one point to another and kind of loose the flow but overall I enjoyed the book and recommend it. I did find the writing at times to be poetic. I'm also not sure how I feel about the ending.
