jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male Review:
Inspired by the 1995 classic, Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male is an intense eau de toilette with a fruit-forward aroma profile that was launched 20 years later.

[01:02] Composition:
Opening on an unusual burst of pear and mint set against bergamot and lavender.

The pear notes persist as we discover an spicy and aromatic heart that consists of sage, cinnamon, cumin and gourmand vanilla notes.

Finally, the vanilla notes extend into the base to include cedarwood, earthy patchouli and deeply musky labdanum.

[04:25] Seasonality:
With its fruity and spicy notes, Ultra Male is ideal for the colder months. It's best suited to the winter but can be worn during the fall and early spring too.

[05:11] Wake & Strength:
Ultra Male is a generally good performer. The sillage is quite potent whilst the projection is more refined.

Finally, the longevity also performs well and lasts nicely throughout the day.

[06:31] 3rd Party Feedback:
Despite its unusual character, people tend to really like Ultra Male. It's most appreciated by people of all genders under their thirties. However, above this age range its popularity tends to wane.

Older people find it somewhat cloying and a bit too synthetic. Nevertheless, it's thoroughly enjoyed by both men and women in their twenties and younger.

[07:41] Impressions:
Ultra Male is an ideal fragrance for young people and while it is certainly wearable by those in their twenties, it performs best on teenagers.

Similarly, it's an overly casual fragrance that is too unconventional and strong for formal occasions including the office. However, it could be worn at high school.

Conversely, it's better worn during the night than the day. Therefore, if you're a student enjoying the night-life, this would be the perfect companion.

Finally, it's a moderately masculine fragrance, which may be why it's so popular to wear.

[09:57] Presentation:
Ultra Male comes in the classic "Male" style bottle that hasn't changed since the 1995 original. However, the colours are different with a dark blue and indigo glow under the light. The atomiser is made with gunmetal chrome and performs very well even if it lays it on a little too thick.

Meanwhile, Jean Paul Gaultier's packaging is well-known and comes in the form of a tin, which can even be used afterwards as a desk tidy!

Finally, JPG Ultra Male is rather pricey as a fragrance and costs around $70 on Amazon, which was the best price we could find (see link above). However, it's well worth it and an ideal fragrance for young men.

[12:47] Conclusion:
In short, Ultra Male is an excellent fragrance and particularly suitable for younger men. In fact, it's an ideal alternative to Paco Rabanne 1 Million that's a famous yet over-worn scent.

Although it's somewhat pricey, we highly recommend this scent to any young chap looking to get into fragrances.
