The Apple floating store, officially named Apple Marina Bay Sands, is located in Singapore and is the first Apple Store to sit directly on the water.
Location and Access
The store is situated at the iconic Marina Bay, appearing as a sphere floating on the bay's iridescent water. It offers uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic views of the city and its skyline.
There are two ways to access the store:
Via a bridge connected to the nearby waterfront promenade.
Through an underwater passageway and escalator system from the Basement 2 level of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall.

Unique Design and Features

The design of Apple Marina Bay Sands is a unique, fully self-supported all-glass dome structure.

Structure:
The sphere is comprised of 114 pieces of glass held together by only 10 narrow vertical mullions, ensuring minimal obstruction to the views.

Daylight and Shading:
The design is inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, featuring an oculus (a circular opening) at the apex of the dome that allows a flood of natural light to travel through the space. The interior glass is lined with custom baffles and trees are planted along the perimeter to provide additional shading and soft shadows.

Nighttime Effect:
After dark, the store's interior lighting creates a warm glow, making it look like a lantern on the bay.
Underwater Boardroom: The lower level of the store, which is underwater, features Apple's first-ever "Boardroom" where entrepreneurs and developers can meet with Apple team members for training and advice.
The Forum:
A dedicated area with a large video wall hosts "Today at Apple" sessions with local artists, musicians, and creators.
