Storing first day covers on hagner sheets is often not very satisfactory.
I make up sheets using black sheets in sheet protectors and sew pouches to suit the size of the first day covers. Cost per storage sheet is about 5 cents compared to $1 per hagner.
I do not know what effects the home-made sheets may have on long term storage
