This isn't really a video for everyone, but if you didn't know already you have to fill in a return to get injury insurance for your business. The process is rather old but necessary. Most agencies will charge you around about R1000 to fill this out.

Filing a COIDA return is necessary for businesses in South Africa for several reasons:

Legal Requirement: It's a legal requirement under South African law for all employers to register with the Compensation Fund and submit a return of earnings (ROE) annually. Failure to do so can result in penalties.

Protection for Employees: The Act provides for compensation in the case of disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by employees in the course of their employment.

Protection for Employers: It also protects employers from being sued under common law for injuries or diseases occurring during the course of employment.

Financial Coverage: The fund covers medical expenses, loss of earnings, and death benefits in the event of an employee's work-related injury or disease.

Promotes Safe Work Practices: The Act encourages employers to maintain safe work environments to minimize the risk of occupational injuries or diseases.
