Why You Should Use a Color Chart and Gray Card on ALL Your Videos | DaVinci Resolve 18 Tutorial 2024

I'm going to demonstrate three ways to take advantage of shooting a color chart and gray card for your videos and films. If you aren't shooting any reference charts for your projects, you might want to consider them because they will speed up your color correction and grading process not to mention improve to look of your footage.

In this tutorial, I'm using DaVinci Resolve 18.6 but if you work in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, you can also take advantage of a color chart and gray card. I'm working on making additional videos utilizing those NLE software as well.

This chart allows you to get perfect exposure, hue and saturation levels, white balance, skin tone balance, contrast levels, color matching between camera systems and more!
