Join us for a chill day island hopping… in STOCKHOLM!

We started out our day enjoying a Semla and a Saffron Pancake at Café Tårtan. Then we walked over to the Slussen terminal to catch our first ferry of the day. Pro Tip: your SL card (Stockholm’s Public Transport) can be used on the several boats that are included in the route network. This one magical pass gets you access to the underground, ferries and busses.

We took the line 82 Djurgården ferry, which is an inner city ferry route from Stockholm to the island of Djurgården. As we arrived at the island we were surprised to be greeted by a theme park. That theme park, Gröna Lund, was founded in 1883 and has over 30 attractions. They also hosts some pretty awesome concerts from what we read. It was closed while we were there, but fear not because this island is filled with interesting attractions like the Vasa Museum, the Abba Museum, and our pick the Viking Museum. If you’ve been following us for a while you know we’ve got a fierce affinity to the Vikings history. It all started in Copenhagen last year.

Lunch was at Wärdshuset Ulloa Windgladh AB, a super traditional restaurant where we enjoyed some Swedish meatballs with delicious mashed potatoes and beef cheek 😳.

The rest of the afternoon we decided to ride the ferry the whole route, while enjoying the beautiful views. We did a little napping, and were nice and cozy inside. At the Rosten terminal we got off, had a coffee at Mojtabai Kiosk and Coffeeshop and began our journey back for our next adventure. You’ll have to stay tuned for that one.
