"Cannonball Rag" has always been one of my favorite Merle Travis songs. I can still remember the first time I heard it, and it totally blew me away. I had been listening to Doc Watson and I heard him tell a story about naming his son Merle after Merle Travis, so I figured that I should check out Merle Travis and hear what I'd been missing. This was the first song I heard by Merle, and I just listened to it on repeat over and over again. I recently received this "Red Pure" model OMc from Furch guitars, and it is one of the easiest-to-play acoustics I've ever had, so it makes songs like this just fly out!
