Tight hip flexors have become a big problem thanks to all the hours we spend sitting. Beyond helping you pack on the pounds, this habit can mess with your mobility.

Tightness, weakness, and dysfunction in these muscles can affect our ability to perform just about any movement pattern we want – whether that’s squatting in the gym, playing with the kids, or going for a run.

When we spend too much time sitting – in a flexed hip position – your hip flexors can get weak and shortened. This can lead to problems up and down the chain, especially at your low back. It can lead to injuries and poor form in a variety of movements, like squatting or running.

This unique method will help improve hip flexor strength, mobility, and function with 2 steps.

Step 1 improves hip flexor mobility through active self-myofascial release. It will get your glutes to fire and your hip flexors to relax as you manually release the muscle.

Step 2 improves hip flexor strength in a functional pattern and big range that takes the muscle from fully shortened to fully lengthened.

Both steps help teach your neuromuscular system to relearn better firing patterns to use your hip flexor muscles more efficiently, specifically your iliopsoas.
