Extreme way to widen nib slit / tine. (text narration only, no voice over)

Описание к видео Extreme way to widen nib slit / tine. (text narration only, no voice over)

This video is going to demonstrate an extreme and risky way to widen a nib's slit quickly. This method involves pulling the tine directly very violently with a common tool - the brass shim plate/sheet (brass shim should really be a standard tool set for a fountain pen enthusiast / tinkerer)

Disclaimer: only proceed on your own risk! I shall not be responsible for any destroyed nib. If you want to try this, I recommend that you try it on a cheap nib which you can afford to lose.

I used a Jinhao #6 nib from a X750 as demonstration in this video.
Step 1: Insert a brass shim into the nib slit
Step 2: Insert a 2nd brass shim into the nib slit
Step 3: Bend the brass shim to the sides and pinch it into shapes
Step 4: Pull the tine!

Pen used in this video:

Jinhao 992 (clear) F nib, inked Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Red
Jinhao X750 (red ice flower), inked Diamine Majestic Blue

Paper: Kokuyo 'Sara Sara' A5 Loose Leaf
