Conductive hearing loss in a child would mean the problem is either in the ear canal or the ear drum or the space behind the eardrum and the cochlear called as the middle ear space. So the common conditions which can affect the chid which can result with conductive hearing loss is accumulation of wax or serum and on cleaning of which the child should become alright. Sometimes the children develop middle ear infections called as otitis media which will lead to accumulation of fluid or pus in the middle ear causing conductive hearing loss which can sometimes lead to a hole in the ear drum which we call the condition as acute suppurative otitis media and this too can lead to some amount of hearing loss and very rarely some children can have congenital hearing loss wherein the canal may not differentiate during the fetus growing inside the womb and this is called as canal atresia where the canal doesn’t form at all and this may also contribute towards conductive hearing loss. These children can also have associated oscicualr problems, that means problems in the bone of the middle ear were the bones will not move as freely as they are supposed to move or they are deformed, hence leading to a hearing loss which is called as conductive hearing loss.
