Paid social media appears to be on the horizon. Twitter's app now includes two additional premium services. Twitter super followers, which allow users to pay a monthly fee in order to receive exclusive tweets from their favorite creators as well as the opportunity to communicate with them. They also debuted Twitter Blue, which allows users to organize their favorite material into folders and includes an undo tweet button. Given the extremely competitive nature of social media, one can only speculate on whether other sites would follow suit and implement a paid model for their users. Donors and advertising are the main sources of revenue for most social sites. As a result, these changes via premium choices draw users into the money-making chain. The change in paid features also shifts the idea that social media allows all users to have the same features for the low cost of free.
