Code 3 1:64 Scale 1972 Ward LaFrance Pumper - Los Angeles County Engine 16 No. 12397

After months of watching eBay like a hawk and looking for a reasonable price, I finally managed to snatch up this 1:64 scale replica of LA County engine 16 by Code 3. This truck as been a challenge to get as it was a limited run by Code 3 with only 3000 pieces ever being produced back in I believe 2004. Because of its limited run and the fact that it's been close to 20 years ago it came out, I feel that's why these trucks are so sought after.

This replica of LA County's engine 16 does not disappoint with it's extensive amount of detail. The truck has everything from interior details to all sorts of added accessories all around the exterior. My favorite parts have to be things like the ventilation fan, traffic cone, and the the trucks hose and reel details. Although I've already seen this same level of detail with my Code 3 replica of LA County's engine 51, I'm still impressed with this replica of engine 16.

Sadly being that I purchased this as a somewhat used replica, the truck did not come with the box or a certificate of authenticity, so I have no way of telling what number out of the 3,000 produced that this truck is. Considering the cost you'd pay for one which is mint in the box and comes with a COA, this was a sacrifice I was willing to make just to get one that was intact with all it's parts.
