This jig is based on my well proven bass catch, the Headstander fly. It's small and light compared to a lot of jigs, to avoid the stun strike problem that can happen with smallmouth hitting larger jigs.

Like the Headstander fly, smallies will either take this small jig in one gulp, or if they stun strike it, they're likely to come back and eat it. With larger, heavier jigs, they're more likely to realize, after their stun strike, that it is a fake.
