Скачать или смотреть VW T4 Gear selector bushing... FAIL

So, i was changing the oil on my T4 today, all went well, and as i drove off to test drive it afterwards, i noticed the gearbox turn into a huge bowl of soup after a few hundred yards.

The van still moved, and i could still actually find different gears, but they were not where they should have been.

After stopping and investigating, 5 was gone and reverse was near impossible to get to.

Managed to pull away in what i think was third...

Since the gears were not making bad noises, an it drove fine at the right speed for the gear, it must only be the linkage.

Looking in the engine bay, at the bottom, just to the left of the battery, you can see the ball-shaped bushing and the square bracket that it should sit in.

You can see in the video they have been completely dis-located.

Thankfully the new bushing are cheap enough, but fitting them will take a bit of tinkering and patience...

Once fixed the ball bushing should be securely position inside the bracket, allowing gears to be selected again..
