In honor of National Pasta Day, we whipped up this yummy "pawsta car-bone-ara" made with all dog-friendly ingredients! For this recipe you can either use whole wheat pasta or make your own from oat flour like we did in the video. The oat flour noodles will come out looking different than traditional pasta but it's still yummy and safe for your pups to eat raw.

If you're trying this recipe at home you'll need:
About 1 cup of oat flour (you can blend your own using whole oats!)
1 egg
2-3 tbsp olive oil
1 quail egg (or sub for regular chicken egg)
2-3 tbsp of freshly shredded parmeson
1/2 a jerky treat-or use real bacon if you'd like

Take your oat flour and make a little nest and then crack your egg. Break up the egg a little and then start mixing with the flour. Add about 1 tbsp of olive oil. Continue mixing to get the flour to form a dough. Once it starts getting clumpy, add some olive oil to your hand to help keep from sticking. (All the flour may not stick and form into your dough ball, that's ok, just discard the extra)

Once you have your dough ball, roll out the dough as thinly as you can. Then cut into desired pasta shape. Boil noodles for 5-10 minutes, they'll start to get a little pale the more done they become.

Once you've drained the excess water, add in your quail egg or regular egg. Mix egg in quickly so it doesn't scramble. Then add in some freshly shredded parmesan. Crumble up jerky treat to act as bacon. Make sure it's completely cooled before serving to your dog. We topped ours with some Doggy Spice garnish and some additional parmesan if you'd like. Serve to your dog and let them enjoy some pawsta car-bone-ara!!
