Driving in Germany and Switzerland: Bundesstraße B27, H4 & A4 from Lottstetten to Schaffhausen

In this video you can ride along on Bundesstraße B27, Germany's longest Bundesstraße, Hauptstraße H4 & A4 from Lottstetten in Germany to Schaffhausen in Switzerland. This is the most southern part of the B27. We are crossing through what is almost an enclave of Germany, surrounded by Switzerland. There is a small Landstraße that connects this part to the rest of Germany to the West.

An actual German enclave exists just Northeast of Schaffhausen, completely surrounded by Switzerland. This is an interesting region, as there is a high amount of cross-border traffic for work and shopping. Many German residents work in Switzerland where the wages are generally higher, and many Swiss residents cross the border to shop for everyday groceries because it's much more affordable compared to Switzerland. As a result there are quite a few border stations and usually rows at customs.

Schaffhausen is a larger city in the North of Switzerland, not too far from the border with Germany. It's situated on the Rhine river and is near the largest waterfall on the Rhine river: the Rheinfall. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.
