Post-Match Commentary :
Germany, #15 Angelina Grün (27yo, 1.85m) was the key player. #16 Margareta Kozuch (20yo, 1.87m) was new and have chances to play on court. #17 Birgit Thumm (26yo, 1.84m) was back to the team. Another new player #11 Christiane Fürst (21yo, 1.93m) also a rising star in German squad. She was the best blocker in this tournament. With #11 & #17 support, Germany performed better than 2005. China #7 Zhou Suhong (27yo, 1.82m) missed out in World Grand Prix as she was injured. But she was fully recovered and back in this tournament. Another player #18 Zhang Ping (24yo, 1.87m) also returned. After two years of preparation, #1 Wang Yimei (18yo, 1.9m) was the starting player with #3 Yang Hao (26yo, 1.83m). #2 Feng Kun (28yo, 1.83m) & #4 Liu Yanan (26yo, 1.86m) led the team. #17 Xu Yunli (19yo, 1.96m) was the starting player. One big change was #18 replaced #4 as starting lineup. Germany didn't win China since 1995. It was 11 years after they won China again and unexpectedly. German attack were more diversified. China relied on #1 & #3, played like an European team in this match. Coach used #18 also a big question mark, he under estimated Germany. Even #4 not performed too good in attack when vs Russia, the team still need her 1st pass. Lost this match made China less chances to enter semi-final.
