After the reflective journeys through Avignon and La Couvertoirade, I'm feeling much better. The trip has given Mariel and me plenty of time to talk, to analyse her film, and to reread the manuscript that started it all.
This has led to a major revelation and a difficult decision. It turns out our paths were much closer in the past than it first seemed. After I left the network of radicalised churches, we formed a group with other people who had also left. During that time, a book was written – a book detailing our experiences, a book I never felt the freedom to publish because the group took an unexpected, difficult turn.
Mariel believes it's necessary to publish it now, to shed light on what really happened. I'm still not convinced; my doubt remains. But I've made a decision. I have signed the authorisation for her to publish it, on one condition: that she takes over completely. She says she knows the right people.
So, from our current stop in Toulouse, a new chapter begins, set in motion by a decision I'm not entirely sure about. We have no plans, we're just taking it as it comes.

I'm not convinced, as I said before, but I signed the authorisation on the condition that she takes over and she does what has to be done to make it happen. She says she knows the people and we'll see what happens.
At the moment we are in Toulouse, and as I said before we have no plans, we'll just take it as it comes.
