Embracing our Changing Community: Leading from Any Seat | August 2024 Conference

Our focus for this year’s conference is Leading from Any Seat. Leadership has always been associated with a role of authority, academic accomplishments, socioeconomic status and more, however, it has been proven that some of the most impactful changes in society have been ignited by individuals with convictions.

Leadership is a courageous journey that requires persistence and endurance; this journey begins with basic principles such as leading by example, courageously doing what is right, and aligning all decision making to integral core values.

Natural leaders may appear strong and resilient on the outside, however, multi-generational workplaces, systemic discrimination, imposter syndrome and other internal or external factors, can affect one’s leadership journey.

How can places of employment create true and clear thriving opportunities for natural leaders? In this conference we will explore different ways in which established leaders can create safe spaces to unleash new ideas and, to nurture new talents within an organization, allowing them to take ownership of a vision and display their own leadership abilities.

Emerging leaders will find their voice when they feel like they belong, moving from pointing at the problem to a solution focused approach, which will contribute to retention and, to the creation of efficient processes, succession planning and financial health for the business or organization.

Our goal is to highlight the different approaches to these dynamics between systems and emergent leaders, through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating opportunities for all to thrive.
