01:00 What are “2 over 2” and “1 over 1”?
Here we will explore the traditional 2 strands of floss over 2 threads of fabric and how when you stitch with 1 stand over one thread it will create 4 tiny stitches in the space of 1 normal stitch. Although this looks like petite point it is not the same.

06:45 A word of caution, special considerations for converting your piece from 2 over 2 to 1 over 1
We will discuss how time consuming this option is, whether good eyesight plays a factor and what type of fabric is ideal and please be mindful of slubs in your linen.

09:00 Other considerations before converting your piece. The stitches are much denser thus the colors are more saturated. You can lighten this by using a lighter color if floss. Wichelt linen (Permin of Copenhagen) provides better results than Zweigart and other fabrics. Regardless of your tension and stitching techniques, 1 over 1 stitching on linen is very organic in appearance and may not be for everyone especially if you are critical of your work - calling all perfectionists here!
