Saddle Build Vid 1 of 3

Hears the list of equipment and materials needed to build the saddle in the upcoming videos. Remember, this is DIY. Use at your own risk!!! Only use at ground level!!!
Equipment needed ( by numbers in pic):
1. Various measuring devices. One critical one is a flexible metal yard stick. That is how we will get an even curve in the saddle.

13. Sewing machine. I use a Singer 4452 Heavy Duty. It is NOT an industrial machine. If you can afford an industrial machine, I would go that route. But, this machine, as well as many of the older Singers is fine for a DIY project saddle.
15. I like to use a thread stand, but its not necessary

Saddle parts list:
2. Craft Paper. Walmart. We will use to make the saddle template.

This is the most important part of the saddle. The chassis.

4. 1 inch Tubular Webbing/Nylon/4000lbs rating ( 5 yards): https://www.amazon.com/SGT-KNOTS-Blue...
This will be used for the exterior loop that makes up the bridge loop and the mole loops. We will also use this to reinforce the bridge loops. This is also load bearing.

5. Grossgrain Ribbon/MILSPEC/1inch ( 4 yards) : https://www.rockywoods.com/1-Grosgrai...
This is just to clean up the edge of the mesh.

These are for the leg loop connections. Again, not load bearing. Just to keep things in place. If you want load bearing leg loops and belt, use a different material and Raptor buckles.

Pricey, but strong and light. Good investment.

These are used to insert into the bridge loops to stiffen them and give them rigidity

This is the main seat of the saddle. Not load bearing.
