Guilty Party Live in Pittsburg Kansas Aug 18,1989

This was the first real concert for Guilty Party. We had been together for about six months. All but one of us had no musical training or experience. We thought that to be a real and professional band we needed at least an hour long set. We learned that this was not a good idea. Better to leave an audience wanting more than to leave them exhausted. We figured that out from this early gig.
This is the result of that mindset. We tried to have more original material than covers. With our skill set at six months of playing, we did pretty well. Most of our originals are still half practice and half improvise. It seemed that that was something we could work out in the live setting. It amazes me that we thought that way. We were courageous without realizing it.
Performing live was the reason for our existence.
By the way, in case it isn't obvious from the first few seconds. We were a Christian band at the time. Insufferably so. We flew that flag proudly. We were young and full of vigor for our beliefs.
