Supermodel Feature Updates and SCUD Race Performance Test on Raspberry Pi 5

Описание к видео Supermodel Feature Updates and SCUD Race Performance Test on Raspberry Pi 5

Making use of Supermodel3's FPS monitoring facility to see how well the Pi 5 is running the Model 3 games. This time it's Sega Rally 2!

The native resolution of most, if not all, Model 3 games is 496x384. I've made sure that Supermodel3 is running at that resolution as higher resolutions can majorly impact the performance, and maintained the original Model 3 aspect ratio of 31:24.

My Raspberry Pi 5 is overclocked to 2750/950 which I've found to be quite stable as long as there's a fan to provide cooling, but I have also tried the game without the overclock and it still seems to run well. The Pi is running the Bookworm 64-bit Lite OS, with RetroPie installed on top. If it's important, I'm using a 8BitDo SN30 Pro to play this game.

Installing Supermodel
-----------------------------------
If you want to install DirtBagXon's fork of Supermodel, go to his GitHub at https://github.com/DirtBagXon/model3e... and copy the "wget" command to download the setup package onto your Pi, then you can install it in the same way as any other emulator from the Experimental section of RetroPie-Setup. Look for "supermodel3".

At the time of publishing, DBX's arm-optimised fork of Supermodel is being reviewed for inclusion as an official RetroPie emulator. You can follow that conversation at https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-...

I mostly do gameplay videos on original hardware, occasionally a how-to guide or sometimes a look at something new, like developments on the Raspberry Pi5 and Sinden Lightgun.
