Get ready for the wildest day of the year! Every first Monday of August, Anguilla explodes with energy as August Monday kicks off the Anguilla Summer Festival. It all begins before dawn with J’ouvert — thousands dancing through the streets from the capital to Sandy Ground.


At midday, the legendary August Monday Boat Race sets sail from Sandy Ground — traditional sailboats racing around the island in a spectacle of speed, skill, and Caribbean pride.

As the sails fade into the horizon, the party doesn’t stop — the beach turns into a massive fete: music (soca & calypso), dancing, boats anchored offshore, beach-bars, grills, drinks, and a crowd of locals + visitors living the island dream.
