BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Jury selection is underway in the trial of a Buncombe County man charged with murdering his wife.

Mack Glisson is accused of shooting his wife Crystal at the couple's home in Alexander in May 2013.

The couple's two daughters found their mother's body, and Glisson was taken into custody in McDowell County after a 3-day search.

News 13 later learned he was supposed to be in a mental health facility when the shooting happened, but he escaped.

Glisson faces life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder.
