The Sky defeated the Seattle Storm 88-84 at Climate Pledge Arena on Friday, July 5.

Both Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter had career games for the Sky, with Reese recording a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double and Carter scoring a season-high 33 points. Reese’s 27 points were a career high. Reese also notched the first made three-pointer of her career, going 2-for-2 from deep while matching her career high in blocks. Carter’s 15 made field goals and three steals were also career highs. In total, Reese and Carter combined to score 60 of the Sky’s 88 points.

With Reese’s 12th straight double-double, she tied the all-time record for consecutive double-doubles by any player in WNBA history. She tied Candace Parker, who had 12 straight spanning the 2009-10 seasons, and a double-double in Sunday’s game would give her the all-time record.

Kamilla Cardoso stuffed the stat sheet for Chicago, recording nine points, eight rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist. Marina Mabrey did the same, notching eight points, four rebounds and a team-high seven assists.
