Apple has launched a new accessibility feature ‘Dwell Time’ which uses eye-tracking to assist users with physical disabilities in navigating through apps, explains Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech.

“So basically, a disabled person with physical disabilities, they could actually control the iPad and iPhone just using their eyes,” Mr Fenech told Sky News Australia.

“They are looking around the screen and there is a thing called ‘Dwell Time’ – so, they are looking at a button they would normally press, they look at that button for a few seconds.

“That dwell time is the equivalent of a button push.

“They are then able to advance through the app and do whatever they need to do.”
