Birmingham - Clifford T Ward

Описание к видео Birmingham - Clifford T Ward

From his No More Rock 'n' Roll album.

For some unfathomable reason, Ringo Starr took the melody from this song, added different lyrics and released the song Lady Gaye (presumably after Cliff's No.8 chart hit Gaye).

Thanks to Geoff Claydon's cine film footage of the city in 1970    • Birmingham England 1970 old cine film...

Everything is on loan.

Lyrics:

Birmingham

Birmingham, don't mean the one over in Alabam
There is no-one who's been through more than you
And still come through with love to spare
You really care, you lovely lady you.

Birmingham, with your air so cosmopolitan
Well I don't mean that disrespectfully
For you have always shared you home
With all who've come to love you like I do.

It's time you city people turned to look
And take a leaf out of this lady's book.
