Institut is an industrial band from Malmo, Sweden. Formed in 1991 by Lirim Cajani, the lineup went on to include Johanna Rosenqvist, before returning back to just being Cajani’s solo project. The project has releases on a variety of labels, most famously Cold Meat Industry and Unrest Productions. This EP (put out by CMI) is one of the most intense and frankly brutal releases in the entire industrial music sphere. The combination of the industrial textures, Cajani’s barking vocals, and the variety of samples call to mind the kind of terror Genocide Organ would achieve in their 2010s releases. In many ways, more than more legendary groups like Anenzephalia, Survival Unit, Rasthof Dachau, and the like, Unto the Last Man will bludgeon you into dust. Absolutely not to be missed under any circumstances!
