Investing In Comics In 2019? The ADVICE You NEED!

Описание к видео Investing In Comics In 2019? The ADVICE You NEED!

Comic book collecting and investing is usually all fun and games but it never feels good to buy a book and see the same book sell for 20% less 6 months after you bought it. Luckily, most of this can be avoided with some basic research and surveying of the pop culture landscape.

Before getting into how movies and pop culture effects the price of comic books, I first go over some of the basics of comic book investing and collecting. The main rule is buy what you love -- if you like the books you buy you are more likely too keep them for a long period of time and you will have more benefits if the issue goes up in value.

Try to stick with first appearances, origins and other key issues of superheros you love. If you are collecting silver/ golden age and early bronze, buy your favorite 1st appearances in the best grades you can afford. Anything after 1980 I would recommend buying CGC 9.8 versions of key issues (maybe CGC 9.6s too). By this time comics were widely printed and having the highest grade becomes more important to collectors.

Using Amazing Spider-Man 361 as an example, I talk about price fluctuations in comic books because of movies or pop culture events. Last year during the Venom movie release, this issue was selling for about 450-500+ in the CGC 9.8 often. Whereas now there have been some auctions selling for 350-400. As a comic book investor, it pays to be patient -- especially when there is a movie, show or other pop culture event out drawing extra attention to the comic book. That will bring in more "noobs" to the market who do not know much about the pricing history, and who therefore inflate prices in the issues in the short term.

I discuss this in more detail in the video. So much appreciate all the support and comments!!! Thanks for watching!!!
