BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1990's
Crewe Station (Crewe Rail Fair) on 21st August 1994
Part 1 of 2
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Crewe Station filmed from opposite the famous Heritage Centre to the North of the platforms. This was Basford Hall's Open Day and proved very popular, with many exhibits on display. The video does not visit Basford Hall but focuses on the activity at the station. Several specials to the event ran and a good selection of traction was witnessed. 2nd gen DMU's such as 142, 150, 153. and 158. Class 310 EMU's om their way to Liverpool and return. In the form of Locomotives I captured class 31, 33, 37. 47, 56, 58, 73, DVT 82, 86, 87 and 90. Enough to keep many an enthusiast happy....It was a particularly long event and I managed to be there from 11.30 A.M until late evening. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
