Yellow Rocoto Chilli Test

Описание к видео Yellow Rocoto Chilli Test

Yellow Rocoto, a pubescen variety from South America. There are many types of rocoto’s and we are major fans as they all have great flavour and juicy plus a different type of burn, the plants have the usual furry stems and leaves plus the black seeds that rocotos are known for, most know the red variety but these are the yellow

The plants can grow big, ours is in the ground and around 2 meters tall, its approx 3 years old but they can live for many years, the pods can get big, these are nearly as big as tennis balls, they start off dark green and ripen to yellow, they prefer a cooler climate and we have ours in the garden under shade cloth, they have a long season as like it cool so will continue to produce well after others have shut down in autumn/winter

What’s it Like?
How Hot is It?

Really juicy, thick walled, Initially get a capsicum like flavour that then has a green bean like under tone, we love it, flavour stays

Heat is different, initially built on the lips as they are so big, had to do in multiple goes so the juice got on the lips, apart from that, the whole mouth filled with a nice upper mid heat glow, the different type of burn is due to the type of capsaicin they contain. It’s a deep building type of burn that is much nicer than the usual sharp sting get with a lot, sort of a superhot type burn but not superhot

All round great plant, grows pretty easily, has a longer season due to liking the cooler weather, good producer would go great as a sauce or jam as really juicy and decent heat.
