SOAP OPERA SEQUENCE

It's called soap opera sequence because it’s several emails linked together telling a story.

You want to leave “open loops” in every email to keep your audience entertained, curious for the next email, while they get dialed into your message and content.

The goal of a S.O.S. is to build the relationship first, sell second.

Before start offering products, it’s nice that your customers get to know you first.

BROADCAST/SHOTGUN EMAILS

These are random emails with the purpose to keep your name fresh in your audience mind.

You want to deliver content to build a relationship so they can see you as a human being, as a friend.

People like content that

Motivates
Shares tips
Gives inspiration
Challenges them to take actions

You can also send
Ecosystem emails - which are emails that bring your audience to your different marketing channels with the purpose to target them from all angles.

You don’t want to be the annoying sales email guy. You want to bring more to the table.
And this type of sequence is perfect for that.

AFFILIATE SEQUENCE/PRODUCT PROMOTIONS

After you have introduced yourself, sent a few broadcast emails…

Now you can place an offer in front of them because you have built a relationship with your audience.

The purpose of this sequence is to prepare your audience to buy your affiliate offer.

But keep in mind that you never sell the product, you sell the solution of their problem, understand?

People buy things for the outcome it’ll bring them.

I normally write a sequence of 5 to 8 emails but it really depends on the product im offering,
and how excited im about promoting it.

Here’s the template for email marketing I use to write my affiliate offers.

1. When you start a promotion you need a hook, a reason to get them interested.

You want to introduce the problem; the pain they are facing with a story that they can relate in an emotional level.

2. Solve the problem and introduce affiliate offer

You are not selling yet… Just showing that the problem has a solution and you found it through the affiliate product. You are just announcing the product.

3. Explore the affiliate offer deeper.

Here you talk a little more about the product, its benefits…

You can call out the obvious, their concerns, excuses they might have in their mind that are stopping them from buying the product

4. Testimonials.

Time to show proofs that the product really works. That it hasn’t only helped you but many other people as well.

5. Bonus

You don’t necessarily need to create bonus but if people are on the fence, a bonus can help them to decide to buy it.

6. Deadline

Since mostly products won’t have a deadline so you can give them a sense of urgency for your bonus.

You can say that only the first 100 people will get the bonus, or they are running out of time to get it.

But again… Bonus is totally up to you.

7. Go back to delivering value and goodwill
