Recently, Sonic Frontiers brought back my love for super forms and it gave me some ideas regarding some similar transformations that could happen in other platformers … and of course, all my inspiration went into Rayman as usual! 🙃
What if Rayman could use the power of the 1000 Lums, aka the Heart of the World? Like how he can absorb the Great Protoon in Redemption and ReDesigner? … While we’re at it, what if he could both!? And so both Super and Hyper Rayman were born! :)
Considering the Yellow Lums’s colours and some of the series’s power-ups like the Gold Fist, this was just perfect!

Of course, I had to turn these ideas into a skin and a crazy level! I always wanted to make more use of the invincibility power-up and to see a level dedicated to it, and so I ended up doing it myself! This resulted into this small action packed course very similar to what I already did with Rock ’n’ Run before… But this time it’s a complete power trip as nothing can stand in your way as long as you can maintain your invincibility! Not even the giant ‘Mr Dark’ made out of Flying Antitoons who has returned after so long!
Mr Dark has assembled a titanic army to finally defeat his old sworn enemy, but he really did not expect that the limbless hero would have gained such power since their first battle in 1995!
With such overwhelming strength, all you have to do is to run and punch through his forces, and not a single foe will even be able to lay a finger or a claw on you! In other words… ‘Break Through It All!’

The level is quite short as it was mostly intended to be a cool showcase for the whole Super Rayman concept! But it still took several hours to make … only to end up with a final result that lasts for about one minute and a half! The joy of making very fast-paced levels! 🥲
However, there are a few alternate paths at the beginning and successfully triggering a Gendoor in one of them will result in a few extra objects spawning later on throughout the map!
Like in some versions of Rock’n’Run’s second main section, there’s also an alternate ending which you can reach by backtracking after reaching the end! You just need the keys and to make it back to the area where the first Skops had stopped, and you’ll find another exit sign as well as a little nod to Sonic Adventure 1!
Note that the level has been updated after this video’s creation and now features a few more decorative objects as well as some improvements (mostly regarding a bunch of tiles).


Heh … if enough of you enjoy it and if ReDesigner’s final update adds enough content, I could make an additional part featuring another song from Frontiers!
That’d also be a good opportunity to go back to Rock’n’Run and to finally give it its long overdue anniversary update and Redistributor release!
