How To Apply Screen Printing Capillary Film Emulsion To A Frame

Brian explains the process of applying Ulano EZ-FILM 50 Micron Capillary Film to a screen printing mesh frame, followed by how to apply a screen printing film positive to the capillary film. Be sure to use safe lights for actual use of emulsion.

First take the capillary film and place it on a flat surface on paper. The paper catches excess water. Take your degreased screen printing frame and set it on top of the film. Center the film. Take warm tap water and spray the screen. This will pull the emulsion from the capillary film onto the screen. Don't drench the screen, just get it saturated. For air bubble, just slightly push on it until there are no air bubbles. Let it set for 3-5 seconds.

Next take a squeegee, and remove excess water. Then lift the screen and the capillary film should stick to the screen, and then let the screen dry (20-25 minuets).

After the screen has dried, remove the receiver film off of the screen. Then take your film positive design and center it to the screen. Tape the film to the screen, put it on your exposure unit. Then expose! You're finished!
