This training will introduce delegates to the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and discuss the key elements of this legislation. We look at the Mental Capacity Act Code of Practice and the individuals who lack capacity.

Next, we introduce delegates to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) and what it is as well as how restraint is defined in S6(4) Mental Capacity Act 2005. We finish with looking at the DOLS process.
